The Fall Fundraiser numbers are in and the Lord has blessed us again! Our overall sales totaled $22,260 of which after purchasing the ButterBraids and the prize pool, our anticipated fundraising efforts will net $8,933.

ButterBraid Sales                  $22,260

Cost of ButterBraids             $11,130

Cost of Prizes                        $  2,197

NET TOTAL                           $  8,933

We are so humbled by the outpouring of support from our school family and community, especially during these very difficult times. This is the second highest fundraising effort the school has had since 2008!

With such an incredible effort, we are excited to share our plans as the result:

  • Pepperball school-security/defense program ($3,200)
  • Each class allocated up to $800 (classroom improvements)
    • Teaching Supplies
    • Science Equipment
    • Learning Tools
    • Indoor Activities
    • Art Supplies
    • Special Needs
* NEW - AIR PURIFICATION filtration systems in each classroom! * AIR

In continued efforts to provide a safe and clean environment for our students and staff, we have installed new air purifying systems (portable units) in each classroom and preschool room. These units will provide additional air circulation and filtration beyond our current HVAC system. These are LEVOIT H13 True HEPA Filter Air Purifiers meant to filter particles from Smoke, Dust, Mold, Pollen, and other things affecting allergies, breathing, and overall health.

These purifiers implement an advanced 3-Stage Filtration System: The Pre-Filter, True HEPA Filter, and High-Efficiency Activated Carbon Filter which capture allergens, hair, dander, smoke, mold, odor and large dust particles, in addition to removing 99. 97% of airborne contaminants as small as 0.3 microns.

We are very thankful for the Idaho State Childcare Grant (Phase II) funding that continues to help us improve and implement good systems for advancing our efforts towards a safe and clean learning environment. We will continue this tract of daily evaluations and improvement measures as our ongoing effort to make CornerStone a welcomed and safe place for all our children and students.

Within the past few days, CornerStone has been implementing new facial-recognition & temperature taking stations at the secured entrance to the school. These are precision machines that will take temperatures of each individual entering the building (children, families, and staff). The system also uses facial recognition for the purposes of allowing secured entry (unlocking the security door), as well as documenting date, time, and temperature of each individual entering the school. These are similar to units that are used at hospital entrances, airport screenings, etc.

Here’s how it works:

  1. When entering the school, each person will face the display and wait for a reading. Younger children will need to use the step-stool or be held.
  2. Simply place your face within the white outline guide on the display.
  3. A temperature reading will then be displayed.

You may need to move closer or back-away to get a measurable temperature reading.

  1. This reading will then be displayed in a colored bar at bottom showing your temperature.

IF a GREEN bar is displayed, you are cleared to enter

IF a RED bar is displayed, your temperature reading is not within acceptable limits, and you will be denied entry.

  1. Each measurement is then recorded on the school main-computer for documentation purposes.
